The view down from the basket and a (faked) close-up of the observer and signaller spotting from the basket. A 60-pounder battery receives the signal and the observer directs its fire. The gun fires several times, and a 6-inch Mk VII gun joins in, "note its tremendous recoil". The balloon is then lowered and the basket touches ground bumpily.
Semi-dramatised account of British aerial spotting techniques for guns on the Western Front, probably at Locre, March 1916.
